Karate is a martial art that was developed on the island of Okinawa (Japan) long ago. Karate is comprised of blocks, kicks, punches, throws and holds. It is practiced by millions of people worldwide. Karate is a proven form of self-defence, a great physical workout, a fast action sport, excellent confidence builder, and can instill discipline.  

 

Is a recognized association by Karate Canada and the World Karate Federation. Founded and directed by Sensei Ed Docherty 7th Dan. Our mission is to teach and spread world class Chito-Ryu Karate-Do to many different communities. Chito-Ryu was founded by the legendary karate master Dr. Tsuyoshi Chitose 10th Dan Hanshi Grandmaster. We practice all areas of Traditional Chito-Ryu Karate-Do and look to inspire people with this challenging, interesting and invigorating art. Chito-Ryu Karate-Do benefits people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures, strengthening people and in turn our community

 

 

ICKF Karate School was founded by Sensei Ed Docherty and began teaching January 9th, 2000. At ICKF Sensei Ed strives to provide classes that are interesting, challenging and fun. Sensei’s goal is to have everyone leave feeling better than when they came in. ICKF is a positive atmosphere, and classes are taught with great energy and positivity. At ICKF we work on all areas of Karate, weather an individual seeks martial arts, self-defence, sport or physical fitness ICKF provides a complete and comprehensive program. Training at ICKF will help build self-confidence, self-discipline and an overall sense of well-being. Students range from ages 4-70. We are proud of the great community we have built over the past 25 years!
